Green Tea Chai Latte with Turmeric

I have been drinking this EVERY morning and I swear by it. I love the combo and flavor I have come up with. The ingredients have weaned me off of coffee and have tremendous health benefits. After just a few weeks of drinking this, I have more energy in the AM, no coffee crashes, my workouts have improved and inflammation has gone down increasing flexibility and decreasing recovery time.

(I still drink my coffee at times but it is more of a snack, treat or experience versus a dependency! Hahaha!)

I bought ALL these ingredients off of AMAZON and linked all them HERE on a LIST. The only thing I buy at the store is the SILK Vanilla Almond Milk Creamer because I think a splash of that makes this go from delicious to decadent.

Here are all the ingredients and then at the bottom is the official recipe

1.Roobios Chai Tea (Decaffeinated)

Rooibos Tea is loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It is great for digestion as well. I love the Chai version!!!

2. Matcha Green Tea

This is my favorite way to get a caffeine boost these days because I don’t get the highs and lows like I do with coffee. I mean I love my coffee but this has been a fantastic replacement. Matcha powder has over 100 times the amount of antioxidant properties as regular green tea. I have tried a lot of brands of Matcha and this is the one that I think tastes the best!

3. Turmeric Powder

Turmeric is all the rage right now. I have been using it for years but most recently in my tea. The taste is completely masked by the other ingredients and 1 teaspoon packs an INSANE amount of anti-inflammatory goodness for your body first thing in the AM!

4. Cacao Powder

This can be used or omitted. I have done it both ways. I use it because it has magnesium in it which is really good for endurance athletes and promotes good mental health.

5. Allspice Seasoning

Just a dash of this takes the chai to a new level!!!

6. Cinnamon

I add in cinnamon because it is good for digestion, immunity and blood sugar levels. And it just tastes good!

7. Good Morning Beautiful Mug

I think there is nothing more romantic in a relationship than someone telling you Good Morning Beautiful either in person or via text. Yes I am a sappy hopeless romantic. Since I am single, I decided I needed to tell myself this every morning and not wait around for someone else to. So I bought this mug and it makes my Chai and coffee taste even better. 🙂

 

8. Aerolatte Milk Frother

This is an important tool to help mix if you are making one serving size in a mug. I use this little contraption daily and have for over two years now!!!

 

So the quick and dirty recipe is:

  • Brew Hot Water
  • Put 1 Teaspoon of each into Mug (Green Tea Matcha, Tumeric, Cinnamon, Cacao Powder)
  • Put a dash of Allspice into Mug
  • Fill Mug halfway with hot water and use aerolatte blender to mix well
  • Add in a splash of creamer if you like (I use SILK Vanilla Almond Milk Creamer and it seriously makes this Chai AMAZING!)
  • Fill the rest of the mug with hot water
  • Add in a Chai Tea Packet and let seep for 5-10 Minutes.
  • Remove and enjoy!
  • You may have to stir a few times as the powders sometimes begin to settle at the bottom

That is it! Super healthy and beyond tasty! For caffeine free just omit the green tea!
